Humans are the only species on this planet that does not have a built-in defense mechanism, but we dominate this planet because of our ability to adapt and improvise just like how this man is doing with his laundry.
I saw this man hanging his laundry right after the rain had stop on the side of his ride, a customized jeep, which I guess also serves as his home. While others would put up illegal structures that serves as their shelter, others would simply use their vehicles to serve as their sort of mobile home. The only way to address this issue in my opinion is to develop the countryside which almost all the past presidents promised to do but at the end of their terms, it was nothing but an empty promise. The homeless will continue to grow in number unless these folks find work in their hometown, work that can provide for their families’ daily needs.
No matter where you go in Metro Manila, Philippines you will see these illegal settlers which is I guess the politically-correct way of saying squatters growing in numbers, building houses or shelters in both private and public lands. I can’t blame these people for seeking their luck here in the city rather than face starvation in the provinces of the country.
